Subnautica has many biomes for players to explore and this article will help you locate specific items in specific biomes that will help you to progress in the game. This article will only cover the surface biomes
Depth range: 0m - 80m
Lifepod 5 always spawns in the safe shallows
Depth range: 0m - 500m
The Mountains are found northeast of lifepod 5 On The Mountain Islands you can find the Quarantine Enforcement Platform built by the Precursors
Depth range: 0m - 160m
The Kelp forest can be found close to lifepod 5
Depth range: 0m - 160m
Crater edge can be found at the edge of the map
Depth range: 0m - 370m
Crash zone can be found at the aurora crash site
Depth range: 35m - 500m
The Underwater Islands are found southwest of lifepod 5
Depth range: 40m - 310m
The Sparse Reef can be found southwest of lifepod 5
Depth range: 50m - 170m
The Grassy Plateaus can be found surrounding creepvine forests
Depth range: 65m - 400m
The Dunes can be found west of lifepod 5
Depth range: 125m - 250m
The Mushroom forests can be found both northeast and northwest from lifepod 5
Depth range: 0m - 80m
The Crag Field can be found between the Grand Reef, the Crash Zone, and Kelp Forest
Depth range: 140m - 480m
The Bulb Zone can be found northeast of lifepod 5
Depth range: 150m - 500m
The Grand Reef can be found south of lifepod 5 Here you can find the Deep Grang Reef which contains an entrance to the lost river which leads to the inactive lava zones
Depth range: 0m - 500m
There are 2 Blood kelp zones in Subnautica, one is located north of lifepod 5 and the trench can be found southwest of lifepod 5 In both Blood Kelp Zones you can find an entrance to the lost river(I personally reccomend the trench to avoid ghost leviathans and it it easier to pilot your cyclops down)
